Kick-a-Thon Rules

It is important to understand that this event is on a strict schedule. There are also a few rules for kicks specifically. Please read through the rules below and see an instructor if you have questions.

We will be going over these before the event starts as well. So don’t worry about memorizing them. We look forward to seeing you at the event. Be aware if you are not able to make it, we will hold a make-up session (it just isn’t as fun)😢.

Rules for Kicks:

    • Counters will only Count a kick with good extension, retraction and foot must touch the ground in between each kick.

    • Counters will document the times on an approved form.

    • Participants will complete a round and have 2 rounds of rest. Kicking time will be a total of 10 minutes.

    • Participant is responsible for choosing the kick that they would like to perform and may not change it during a round.

    • Kicks may be changed for each round if desired.

    • Participant is responsible for writing down the kick they performed for each round. (either before or after each round)

    • Participants are accountable for keeping track of their tracking sheets during this event.

    • We are on a strict schedule, and it will not be delayed for un-prepared participants.

    • Ideally participants will stay with the same counter throughout the event.

How a round is run:

    • Students will be given a group number and must be listening for their group number to know when to get set for the next round of kicks.
    • A group will set up in front of the official counters pad when called. The Head of the event will call start and the round begins. Kicking continues for 2 minutes.

    • Next group will be called to set up 15 seconds before current round is completed.

    • When time is called official counter documents time on sheet hands sheet to participant and collects next participants sheet, then sets up for next set of kickers.

    • There is only 15 seconds between each round so participants must move in/out of positions quickly.
